The maintenance of extruders is divided into two parts: daily maintenance and regular maintenance to ensure the normal operation of the equipment and extend its service life.

Daily maintenance is a fundamental task that does not take up production time and is mainly carried out during machine operation. This includes cleaning the machine surface, adding lubrication to various moving parts, tightening loose threads, inspecting and adjusting motors, control instruments, as well as various working components and pipelines.

Regular maintenance is generally carried out after 2500-5000 hours of equipment operation. The machine needs to be thoroughly inspected to assess the wear of major components, and if necessary, replace severely worn parts, repair damaged parts, and avoid damage to screws and barrels caused by empty operation.

When there is abnormal noise during the operation of the extruder, it is necessary to immediately stop the machine for inspection and maintenance to prevent metal or other debris from entering the hopper. Magnetic components are usually installed at the feed inlet to intercept debris. At the same time, keep the production environment clean, avoid impurities from affecting product quality and increasing mechanical resistance.

When not in use for a long time, it is necessary to apply anti rust grease to key components, and small screws should be stored properly to prevent deformation or collision. Regularly calibrate temperature control instruments to ensure their accuracy and sensitivity.

The maintenance of the gearbox is similar to that of a regular gearbox, checking the wear of the gears and bearings, using designated lubricating oil, and maintaining an appropriate oil level. Oil leakage should be repaired in a timely manner to maintain lubrication effectiveness.

The interior of the cooling water pipe is prone to scaling and rusting. During maintenance, it is necessary to remove scale and prevent corrosion to ensure the cooling effect. The brushes, insulation resistors, and connecting components of DC motors also require regular inspection and maintenance.

Maintenance and upkeep work should be the responsibility of a dedicated person, and detailed records of maintenance and repair should be kept and included in the factory equipment management file to ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
